Finance & Entrepreneurship

Hello!

My name is Ava Cianelli, and I am a hard-working, passionate, and dedicated individual.  I have gained valuable lessons and skills through immersing myself in various clubs, organizations, and jobs.  These skills have helped progress my professional identity in and out of a professional setting.  In addition, my determination and desire for a challenge has paved the way toward a successful future career in the Financial Industry.

I am from San Antonio, Texas and I am currently pursuing Finance and Entrepreneurship at the Eller College of Management.  The University of Arizona has provided numerous opportunities and challenges to help me discover who I am and what I am capable of.  As I continue my last year at the University of Arizona, I am preparing to interview with various financial companies to earn a full-time position when I graduate in May, 2023.

GET TO KNOW ME PERSONALLY!

I love...

To Travel.

Ever since I can remember, my family and I love to travel.  I have been to a variety of places, each having its own unique characteristics.  In addition, I have grown a greater appreciation for the cultures and people now that I am older and more mature.  Traveling to Japan and Italy to see my own culture firsthand became life-changing experiences for me.  There are parts about Japan that I love: the food, cleanliness, and the politeness, but there are also the landscape and culture aspects in Italy that I enjoy as well.  Despite everything that other countries have to offer, being in different parts of the world made me realize why my home is my favorite destination.  Out of all the places that I have been to, my favorite is San Antonio, Texas.  Texas is the place where I feel the safest, and the people, culture, and landscape is why I want a future career there.

To Give Back.

Growing up in a community that always gives back, this influenced me to do the same throughout my high school and college career.  My passion for community has led me to become a part of Professional Women in Business Association.  This organization has allowed me to give back to various small businesses and network with present and future leaders to implement growth in my professional identity.  In addition, my sorority Kappa Alpha Theta fundraises thousands of dollars each semester and dedicates it toward the organization Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA for children.  Through these organizations, I am able to raise money toward great causes and volunteer at various community sites.

To Help Others.

One of the biggest things that I pride myself in is my heart, which is why I love helping anyone and everyone that I possibly can.  Whether it's picking up trash off of the street, volunteering and doing community service, or simply just providing a helping hand, I always make sure to look out for others.  Taking on the role as a preceptor in Statistics has filled this desire and has given me perspective on being a mentor toward students who are in need of assistance.  Furthermore, I have formed connections with countless, amazing individuals in the Eller Community.  Tutoring students in Statistics has also improved my understanding of the subject.  This knowledge is useful moving forward with my interest in Finance.
